My Thinkpad harware is unable to accept Vista Graphics. Is there an upgrade card I can use.

Laptops are generally have built-in Graphics Chips, which are not upgradable, therefore yes you can install Vista but the Aero Interface will not be available,
The only alternative is to buy a Laptop with au upgradable Graphics Card
