Specs: Windows XP, AMD Athlon 64x2 dual core processor 3600+1.90 GHz
Hello: My Motherboard is a RS485M-M from Elitegroup and I have Windows XP Home Edition. The book shows that I can run up to 16GB (2 sticks of 8 GB each). The book shows that it can take 240 pin unbuffered DIMM, DDR2 800/667/533/400. I don't know how the different MHz ratings react or which would serve me best. I have also read that Windows XP only recognizes 4 GB of RAM. Can anyone point me in the correct direction.

Actually Windows XP will only recognise a little over 3Gbs of RAM. The actual figure is dependant on the hardware it is running on. This is a feature of all 32 bit Operating System, not just Windows XP.

Go to Crucial.com and run their memory checker. It will check what you have and tell you what you need. You dont have to buy from them but it is a good place to buy.

The X2 should be run with DDR2-800.
