Yes - as long as your motherboard manufacturer supplies XP drivers.

U should know xp doesn't use well multi core cpu.

An i3 system will most likely have a SATA hard drive. XP doesn't natively support SATA because at the time XP was released (2001), SATA drives hadn't gone mainstream yet. See the following "how-to":

Just slipstream the basic needed drivers into the xp cd and try it.

Personally I'd run a virtual machine. It is fully supported and just as fast.
