I can receive faxes in, by just having my phone line connected to my printer, but I can not send out...it tells me the number i have been calling from has been disconnected while it is beeping like it could go through.
Have you tried more than one number to send to? Could be the receiving machine must be manually set to accept a fax. If you can receive faxes then I would guess the AIW printer is set up correctly. Sometimes you need to enter a prefix to the number being dialed. Usually a one.
Are you sure the number you are sending to is a fax machine?
If you're in an office situation, sometimes you need to dial an 8 or 9 to get to an outside line.
