First off if it is a IDE DVD Drive then check the cable. IDE cables can go bad overtime. Then go to My Computer and right click on a disk drive and go to properties and then hardware and check if it shows a DVD drive and if it does check that if it is disabled. Then the final step if the above doesn't work will be to go into BIOS and checking the Devices connected and see if it is disabled or enabled in the BIOS. Reply back for further help of you want.
