I need to get rid of continuous warning beeps

November 25, 2010 at 12:02:47
Specs: Windows Me, 256
My living room lamp caused the circuit breakers to break and to shut down my pc. From that time on boot up is always with continuous beeps until I hit any key on the keyboard then it boots up perfectly as long as I press down on any key. But I can't get rid of the beeps. What can I do? I have 256 mb of RAM.

Try entering the bios and reset it to the default settings. Use the F2 or F12 key to enter the bios. If one of those keys do not work try the delete key.

If you load the BIOS defaults, you'll lose any custom settings & your system performance will very likely decrease. Defaults should be used as a starting point only, they are rarely the optimal settings. Load the defaults, save & reboot. Enter the BIOS again & reconfigure the settings.
