Solved i need to free up space on my latitude d500

Specs: Windows XP
it says there is only 2% free space on my c drive. dont understand how to remove programmes and what i can remove without destroying my computer. i did put 4 gb into the back, so cant understand whats filling it up. as your no, the gb i put in at least 4x the computers power. sorry if my terms are wrong, but please help. not very technical savay. thanks

The easiest way to free space is just to delete movies, music, pictures - anything in "My Documens" since they are most likely to not be essential files. Just make sure you know what you are deleting.

Or else you can simply buy another Hard Disk Drive.
-If you get an internal hard drive then you may need some help installing.
-If you get an external hard drive then you can just plug it in and cut/paste large, unnecessary files that you do not want to delete.

Disk Cleanup and Defragmentation will probbly not make much difference to the percentage of free space you have.

I recommend you clone your hard drive using something like Easeus Todo backup. it will save you reinstalling windows & all of your programs.

CCleaner can clean up some space, in case you don't have enough space to install Todo
