Alright I have a Dell Vostro 1000 and I cannot install the ATI 1150 Video driver because it says it is not compatible with my Display adapter...Can anyone help me with this error or give me the correct display adapter that I need to install the driver? Thank you much appreciated!

Go to Dell and download the correct driver for your system. Your display adaptor is inbuilt in the motherboard. Your Dell will have a serial number on it that should take you directly to the available downloads. Goin' Fishin' (Some day)

Alright I know the correct driver and I have it on the CD they gave me with the laptop, it will not download because, according to ATI, it isn't compatible with my display adapter.

How about backing up a bit & explain WHY you need to install the driver? What driver are you using now? Go to Device Manager & click the "+" next to Display adapters...what's listed? Right click on it, click Properties, then click on the Driver tab...what's listed for Provider, Date & Version? And how is ATI telling you that the driver on the disc is the wrong driver? Maybe you need to install the ATI chipset driver as well? I suggest you use the link provided by DAVEINCAPS, change the OS to WinXP, then download & install the video driver (last on the list).

Alright, My computer is a Dell Vostro 1000 that is running Windows XP, there are some applications and also (childishly enough) some games that will not run, and an error pops up saying; "A problem occurred initializing DirectDraw. Hardware acceleration maybe disabled, please run DXDIAG." I looked it up on Microsoft.com and it said to enable DirectDraw Acceleration, Direct3D Acceleration, and AGP Texture Acceleration, but I need to install the Driver provided by the hardware manufacturer, which I am assuming is the ATI IGP Xpress 1150 video driver, which was the only Video Driver on the factory provided disk. Whenever I try to install ATI IGP Xpress 1150 it says that "This Display Driver is not compatible with the Display Adapter(s) installed in your system" And also adding on I have run DirectX Diagnostics
