I tried burning an iso file to a dual layer dvd rw and I keep getting an error message saying something about write protection. I downloaded the file from the internet(not a cd).

This is just a guess, but it sounds like the Digital Rights Management (DRM) code in Vista is refusing to create a copy of a DRM protected video file. It's designed to do that.

What do you mean you had to "turn it into iso format"? Do you mean you had to actually convert the file in some way? The file wasn't a DVD disk image file as downloaded?
