Comment: I just built a new PIV 2.4GHz system with ASUS MB (onborad sound and LAN), 256MB DDR, SB Live! 5.1, 60G HDD, 48x24x48 CDR-W, but can't get video, hence, I can't get into BIOS to load OS, etc. I am using my old Creative RIVA TNT2 ULTRA for video card that works fine in my old 400MHz PII. Can anyone help???

Reply: (edit)Remove the video card. reboot and check the bios for the onboard video. disable it and then put the card back in.

Reply: (edit)I even went so far as to purchase a new PCI 32MB video card to see if that worked. It didn't. I reconnected AGP video and monitor to old PC - VOILA! It worked again, but not on new machine.

Reply: (edit)Sorry David, I just assumed that with onbrd sound and Lan it would have video o/brd. Ok, Why can't you get into the Bios. If it will not let you in then take the M/brd back and get it replaced.

Reply: (edit)need more infor. does the power supply fan and other fans turn on? is there any leds lit? do you hear a post beep? you can try and pull motherboard out of case ,place it on top of the static wraper it came in ,place both on the box and try powering up,you could have a short to the case. TAKE CARE NOT TO HAVE METAL NEAR BY! o and have only memory and vedio card in place.

Reply: (edit)You may have a bad AGP socket. Try the PCI card and see if you get any results. You might also need to reseat the RAM, in case it doesn't have a snug fit, and also make sure that the board is jumpered correctly if this applies to your model.
