Solved I have a Toshiba Satellite c855-s514

Specs: Windows 7
It just started telling me today that I have imminent hard drive failure:
Disk0
Your HDD has the SMART Predict Failure function which monitors the HDD operating status. Your HDD is experiencing a problem and SMART monitoring software predicts that the HDD will fail. Toshiba strongly recommends you create a back-up for your HDD data. Then contact an authorized service provider in order to check your drive and purchase a new replacement drive if necessary.
Toshiba had me partition the hard drive hoping that would work; however it is still giving me the message. it is only 4 months old! Is there a way to fix without sending it into the shop?

If you know how to install a hard drive, then you can fix it, just you will need to buy a new drive. Your current drive is failing, and you should back up your data immediately. If you don't know how to install a replacement drive, then you will have to take the computer into the shop.

You've been helped by a 15 year old.

I seriously was hoping that wasn't the case. I do thank you very much. No, I don't know how to replace a hard drive. This is only my second laptop and and I am not a pro in any fashion.

If it's only 4 months old it ought to be under warranty. A Toshiba authorized repair shop should be able to do all that's needed and probably clone the old drive to the new one.

Thanks for that. I am going to call them again in the morning and let them know that the partition didn't work and then we go from there.
