Specs: Windows xp sp3, cerelon 2.5GHZ/512 miga
when i put sata raid the bios dos not accept my new dvd but when i put it no-raid the bios accept it but the windows dos not

Are you running a RAID configuration with multiple hard drives? Did you install the SATA/RAID drivers?


As a side note, you need to add more RAM.

Windows doesn't support SATA controllers natively, therefore you have to install SATA driver from the motherboard manufacturer.

Alternatively, buy a DVD drive which uses the old IDE parallel ATA interface if the motherboard has any parallel ATA ports.

As previous poster says, you need to install more RAM. 512MB is barely enough for XP. Without sufficient RAM your hard drive will wear out sooner because Windows is having to use virtual memory data-swapping all the time.
