I have a 32GB sony viao pendrive which is not working

Specs: Windows 7, 2GB

I have a 32GB sony viao pen drive(file system:FAT32) which is getting detected in computer but when try to access it is asking to formatt and then open.But when I try to formatt.It gives message windows unable to complete the formatt.also gives message it is not accessible.any solution to fix the problem.
Please help me in fixing the problem ASAP

Sorry to tell you this but if you have a Sony Viao flash drive it is a fake. Sony only uses the Viao name for it's notebook computers, not flash drives. The drive has been modified to show a much larger capacity than it actually has which may be 1 GB or less. Data stored on the drive will be gone or corrupt. The only alternative is to purchase a replacement from a reputable source.

Note that the article mentions 128 and 256 GB drives but also applies to smaller drives and those not purchased from eBay.

Note that flash drives are the least reliable of modern storage media and should not be trusted for long term storage of important data. They are intended primarily as a transport media, not primary storage. You should always have a copy of important files on different media. This applies to all important files, no matter what they are stored on.
