Specs: Windows XP
How to install an external drive for a Toshiba Nemio ultra sound? How can I get to the desktop so I can see if the system is recognizing the external drive?

Specialized piece of medical equipment. There seem to be a variety of models with different levels of spec & features. One would have thought the place to look first would be the operators manual and the next place to ask would be the manufacturer/distributor.

A quick glance at the specs show mention of DVD, USB, and MOD devices. The operating system is probably a Unix/Linux derivative. There must be menu items allowing copying of data to DVD or MOD. That might be the best solution for additional storage. There might not be a desktop as we know it. It probably boots to the opening menu. A larger drive might be a way of getting more space.

Thanks for the feedback.

I do not have an operators manual, but I will double check when I get back to the site next weekend, probably on Tuesday afternoon.

I have tried getting information form the manufacture, but since I do not have a maintenance contract with Toshiba, they will not provide any support.

I am in the process of locating a manual if I can.

I will send an update on Tuesday regarding the type of operating system as I am not sure right now.

Thanks for the several replies.
