|First, are you sure it is 'fried'?|
Second, motherboards are not in any way 'powerful', that is your processor (though often you need a different motherboard for a different processor)
Your system included a Celeron D processor on an Intel socket 775 with an FSB of only 533 and only 512MB DDR2 memory as well as integrated graphics.
If your motherboard is fried, there is not anything there that is worth saving. By more powerful, you are saying that you were no longer satisfied with the performance of the system so it would not help to rebuild it since only a complete new build would help that in any significant way.
You would need a modern processor, a motherboard that would be suitable for it, memory to match it, a graphics card, a power supply, and a new case at the minimum to make any difference. Depending on your budget, experience, and your uses, you may want to build a new system, or just purchase a new complete system ready to go.
Give us more details and we could probably help you better.
You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
