im hoping i still can get it fixed but...

on my motherboard of my laptop i was trying to change my hard drive cause 40gb was too small, and when i got to one part where i had to undo the power button wire from the mobo, the entire jack ripped off, i wanna know if i can still solder it, im trying to find my old teacher who teaches advance circuitry and can maybe solder it back for me, but i wanna know is there maybe an alternative way to get the computer to turn on maybe, and is there a way to get this fixed? can a computer repair guy be able to fix this?

PC had been Sold, laptop Has been Sold, now i have a wonderous Macbook thanks to school i needed to convert but i couldnt have been happier, go macbook go macbook go :P

No there isn't, it's not like a pc's motherboard where it uses connection jumper pins.

Yes it is, if you just pulled it off the solder points then you should be able to resolder it. It's fixable, but i'd advise you to take it to a repair shop unless you can get ahold of your teacher or have good solering skills.

i do not know how small the connection is but I have done some soldering on PC motherboards and I ground down the tip of my soldering iron on a bench griner to make it small enough. The problem for me is my hand is not steady enough really and my eyesight could be better also.

one cool thing about soldering is that you can do it over again
as long as you can clean it and not freeze the joint
