Hi all,
I was working on this computer and it had some flaws, so I was thinking, a bios update could solve some problems. (Memory was already tested with Memtest, tried another Power Supply, HardDisk is fully tested, etc)
Unfortunately, the bios update failed, it hung at around 16%. All the HP does now is beep.. At HP's website I found out something:
1- I could make a disk with autoexec.bat with a specific line to load the bios romfile automatically, off course, I made a bootable disk, with autoexec.bat AND the bios file.
2- I had to switch number 3 on some sort of switchblock to the "ON" postition, this way the computer would boot something called a "boot block"
But unfortunately, the floppy drive's LED won't even turn on once. I removed all devices from the system, like harddisk, cdrom, keyboard, mouse etc. But this doesn't help either (hence this post).
Maybe someone here at computing.net has an idea? Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately no solution found, I put in an A-Open mainboard for 15 euros so this system is already up and running again. Thanks anyway.
