Hello everyone!

I've got some problems with the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool.
Having some various USB PenDrives I've been trying to format them but there was always the message "Device media is write-protected" even if those were ordinary 2GB or 1GB PenDrives withouit any protection switches or so.

What is wrong with them?
Or maybe I was doing something incorrectly?

Thank you in advance for any help!

Zennon

Will they format in normal windows?

I use the HP tool as last ditch. Syslinux usually makes it bootable. There are two versions of the HP tool. Hopefully you got it from the HP site and not some download place.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

I got it from any other "Non-HP" side and really, this may be the reason...

Thank you again, Jefro, for your suggestion!
