Ghost 11 can be started from within Windows. It will restart in PC dos and create the image. I am not sure if Ghost 11 will run in Vista. If it will that is the easier method. Is that the reason for trying the way you are?
Acronis true image is on sale at newegg.com for $25 with free shipping. It does support Vista. It is alot easier to restore and also to verify the created image if you work from within Windows.

I have forgot to mention that there is no provission to to do any thing in the bios except changing boot options. No way to disable Legacy. I do know how can I OVERCOME THE PROBLEM OF OPTIONS IN bIOS SETUP (NOt being able to setup any thing except boot options ).

I am very happy with ghost working in dos because it can work in absence of any window system. I have used ghost 8 it is very efficient and never failed me.Besides, I can see that it is a simple problem once we can undrstand it.

Windows doesn't really come into play when imaging. Have you ever tried it? The only reason to work from dos is if the version of Ghost you have won't run under the version of Windows you have. I use Ghost 2003 and burn directly to DVD. The DVDs are bootable and restore directly form the DVD with no Windows intervention.
If your BIOS doesn't allow booting from a USB device I don't think you can do it without at least one extra step or possibly two.
Look at the link below for help with DOS USB drivers.

If you boot from Hirens boot cd. Select Ghost with usb support. Then you have a choice of about 5 options to load DOS drivers for usb.
I think the one with Panasonic drivers is best. But you can select each option in turn. After selecting an option, keep hitting return. Then see if you can see the usb drive. Bear in mind it will be slow to create the image.

The problem is that PC boot from USB disk the thing which is annoying is that I cannot use the USB disk when I boot from Hiren BootCD, because when I used Norton every USB driver I loaded I end up getting stuck at initializing EHCI host controller, the computer hangs. It is not only imaging which comcern me ,it is the fact that I have a usb disk of 250 BG I want to use when windows stall to get my files using dos.Is there a way of getting around this bios problem . I mean can I do some thing that can enable me to setup options in Bios

You might consult the motherboard or pavilion manual. Unless bios setup is password protected you should be able to do more than just alter the boot order.

I think EHCI host controller is for usb 2. There should be an option to select the usb 1.1 (OHCI?) When you boot Hirens.
I realise your drive might be usb2, but perhaps the bios is not.
Try it, it will be very slow.

Clive, you are wright. I just used usb 1.1(Old PC)it works . Ican access usb disk. What is the benifit of buying new pc if you can only use old usb.If the problem is in bios , will updating bios solve the problem , I mean using usb2 on dos?

You may have a mix of USB 1.1 and 2.0. If you have the external connected to a USB 1.1 controller then you need the appropriate driver. Generally speaking when the transition was happening the USB 2.0 were ported directly out the back. The USB 1.1 were connected by headers. That means any front case USB ports or any on brackets down in the card area MAAY be USB 1.1.

I'm not sure if updating will solve the problem.
I found this

Thank you I have downloaded the update it ,installed it ,it is the same bios in installed in the pc. I noticed when I load drivers for usb2 the there is an error sayinf that Ehci I/o cannot assign or some thing like this . If it is important to write the exact phrase I can do that exctly. OtheHill, Do you mean that some ports actually usb1.1 and some are usb2 when I connect the disk to them, how do I know which is which?

I just explained how to tell. I didn't try to research your computer as HP support in those areas is difficult to say the least.
To recap, when USB 2.0 first came online many Motherboards were made with integrated USB 2.0 and some USB 1.1 which were also integrated but were accessed by means of connection to headers on the board. The headers are in turn ported out to front case ports or to rear brackets installed in knockouts in the same area used for add in cards. So IF your MBoard does have a mix the USB 2.0 will be the ones that are atteched to the board next to the network, sound, PS/2, etc. Hope that clears it up.
