Hi everyone,

Yesterday, I bought a "HP Pavilion dv5220ca" laptop from Staples. Since the CPU of this model is rate as 2.0GHz, but when I check in the System of the Control Panel, it only shows 1.6GHz. Does anyone know what is wrong? Here is the link to HP website for that model as well.

Thank you very much

It's a mobile processor. It cycles down when you don't need it, usually when a battery is being used. Plug into the wall and see. Then do some intensive task and check again.

AMD PowerNow!™ technology extends battery life by dynamically switching the performance states (processor core voltage and operating frequency) based on processor performance requirements

An AMD 2.0ghz CPU actually runs at 1.6ghz. It's rated the same as a Intel 2.0ghz CPU.

Thank you very much for all replies. When I run Windows Media Player and a few other programs, it shows the speed of CPU is 1.99GHz.
