I read the specs for this computer and I can't tell if its IDE or SATA. Can someone tell me which it is? I haven't learned that may computer terms yet.

Here's a link to the specs page http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...

Also, is there some kind of adapter for a SATA drive to go into a IDE computer? And viseversa?

Motherboard specs: (no SATA port)
Onboard IDE •IDE HDD/CD-ROM operation modes:
◦Bus Master
◦Ultra DMA 100/66
•Connect up to four IDE devices

Use a USB to SATA adapter to attach an external drive or get a SATA controller to plug into the PCI slot (no PCIE) for an internal drive. Promise, SIIG, or Adaptec if you can afford.

I just used a program called Piriform Speccy to check my system and I noticed something,

Manufacturer Seagate
Form Factor 3.5"
Heads 16
Cylinders 16383
Device type Fixed
ATA Standard ATA/ATAPI-6
48-bit LBA Unsupported
Serial Number 5LAGF8F0
Interface PATA
Capacity 39.1GB
Real size 40,020,664,320 bytes

I suppose that this already has an adapter on it, since it says ATA and PATA.

Am I understanding is correctly?

Oh, and thank you for the information!
