Comment: Problem: System will not boot. Keyboard LEDs light up when initial power provided to system, then does not function after that point. Nothing appears on monitor; monitor is good, works with other systems. Floppy boot not possible since boot process doesn't get that far. Fans work. Hear a couple of beeps, maybe 3, then nothing. Before posting, I have already isolated modem PCI card, USB add-on PCI card (for built-in USB ports in chassis front), CD-RW, DVD, floppy, HD, & stick of RAM with no change in system response. Any assistance is appreciated. Please advise also if similar topic exists for this HP product. Thanks! Thank you!!

Reply: (edit)Thanks fordman! Good link. Will investigage further & compare beeps. In reviewing other trbls in this forum, I found another link on PSU tsting (http://www.ochardware.com/articles/psuvolt/psuvolt2.html) that I'll try too. A lot of good info in this forum. I'll report back what I find, probably tomorrow sometime. Thank you!!

Reply: (edit)Hi all, Here are the preliminary results of my power tests, using Fluke multimeter. I was only able to get volt measurements. Wasn't able to get any Amps. With the jumper in place, the PSU kept shutting down when I inserted the leads, using 10A & Common on Fluke. The milliAmp option didn't provide any readings & the PSU didn't shut down either. What are your thoughts? Reply: (edit)Hi all, I purchased a new PSU today. After connecting only MB, HDD, & floppy, I turned new PSU on and MB did not boot. Situation still the same. Any other additional thoughts? Also, I'm not getting any POST beeps. I hear a soft click, maybe HDD or CPU activity? However, it's pretty quiet now. Thank you!!

Reply: (edit)In addition, MB seems to be routing power. The CPU fan is operational as well as the secondary case fan. Could this be a CMOS battery trouble? Thank you!!
