Hi,

a friend of mine has a HP Office Jet 7300 printer, he hasa problem where when printing any document in black and white say from ms word for example, every third line would come out blank during printing, this does not happen when he prints in colour, i do not have access to his printer as its at his house and therefore can not check it myself, any ideas what it could be?

do the cartridges need cleaning?
is there any sort of setting that would cause this sort of thing?

That is too weird to be believeable. I have to wonder if he is putting you on.

Well i thought that too actually knowing his humorous personality, however this isn’t a joke, for once, he is quite serious and really wants to fix it, I didn’t understand it myself coz it just seems strange but apparently this is what is happening, he lives too far for me to go and take a look, I thought about cleaning the cartridges but if they were dirty then why would the other lines print? So there must be a setting, or maybe the printer runners are damaged, I just thought maybe someone would have possibly experienced this themselves and possibly knew how to fix it? Any ideas?
