You may want to try buying a new printer, but not an HP one.

Put the old rollers, transfer roller and separator pads back in. Does it work now? If so, replace one item at a time until it fails. You may have a bad out of the box roller or pad.

If it still fails, it could be a paper path sensor, take a look around inside and make sure there's no paper dust or possibly a sliver of paper blocking any of the sensors.

The 5L and I believe the 6L was one of those printers that would drag through multiple pages. For a while HP had a free fix. Basically it was a larger pad that would stick on top of the old one. But the ideal solution was to replace the rollers.

If this just started after you made the repair perhaps you didn't get it back together right. Maybe something is blocking the paper.

Otherwise as already mentioned, it may be best to replace them. I picked up a couple P1006 LJ cheap at auction I'm using now that work just fine. So they're around.

But post back if you get it working. I've got a couple of new 06A cartridges I found at goodwill back when I was using those printers. I think they work on both the 5L and 6L.
