HP Laserjet 5M

Installed printer (LJ 5M) to HP computer P4 by LPT1 port, shared it, added it to my network server, added it to a second printer. Technically only these two comps use this printer. Printer has 6MB and no SIMM installed. I updated the driver from HP website (when doing this I got a "not digitally signed" message - installed anyway). My problem is that sometimes it prints, somethings it doesn't. For example, a one page Word document that consists of a full page table will not print the last little bit of the page. A 7-page document will not print entirely. I get a page that says "This job requires more memory than is available in this printer." But then I change the resolution to 300 dpi it will print once and not print again. Sometimes I leave it at 600 dpi and print regular one page documents it will print and then sometimes it won't. I can't get more memory for this printer. I'm told by my Service guy that it's not a memory problem. The driver I installed is LJ632en.exe. I changed the cable too just to be sure. Does anyone have any idea how I can make this work?

Welcome to the world of HP's crappy drivers. I would try looking around for an older version of the driver or even try the one that comes with Windows.

Thank you for responding. I'm still looking for a driver that may work. So far the only thing that helps is turning the printer on and off.
