Comment: Hey, a friend has a HP Pavilion ZE 2000 Laptop running Win XP that won't boot, when I press the power button I see the HP logo and then hear 2 beeps after that it says, "press F1 to resume, F2 to setup" I tried pressing both keys but nothing happens it just stays there, I can't even get into bios nor boot from a CD, what could be causing the problem?

Reply: (edit)What does it say above that message?? It'll normally say something like 'Keyboard failure. Press F1 to resume, F2 to setup', or 'Time not set. Press F1...' ??? Any additional details??

Reply: (edit)I have the same problem. When the laptop is turned on it displays the startup screen with the HP logo and gives directions to press <esc> to change boot order, <F10> to run setup and <F12> to boot from lan. Immediately after that it beeps twice and prompts to press <F1> to resume, and <F2> to setup. It will not respond to any keyboard input at all. Ctrl-Alt-Del will not work... F1 or F2 will not work. F10, F12, and <Esc> will not even work if I press it before the laptop beeps. No error is displayed. I've removed the hard drive, CD-Rom, memory modules (one at a time), CMOS battery... I now have it a part down the just the motherboard, nothing else is plugged in, I'm even using external video. No luck... The laptop either beeps twice and gives the prompt for <F1> and <F2> or just freezes indefinitely at the startup screen... The owner of the laptop tells me he walked away from it when it was on the table and it went into some sort of power saving mode. He had to pull the battery and power plug to get it to finally try to boot again. Since then, this is what we get. Did either of you guys find a solution? THe specific model of this laptop is HP Pavilion ze2308wm

Reply: (edit)Has anyone having this issue recently tried to insert a Sprint wireless PCMCIA card? The customer on my problematic HP recently installed and has been successfully using this adaptor. I just wonder if it could've damaged the motherboard somehow. How about any other hardware that may be fairly new to your system?
