HP Deskjet not responding

Error message reads...your HP Deskjet cannot be found on ports LPT1 - LPT3...Check connection..and try again...have reinstalled all software..it is a setting somewhere..any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try turning the printer off and try again. My son in law fought that problem for weeks until he accidently left the printer off and then it installed.

You might try going into your BIOS screen and check under "Integrated Peripherals". Make sure the "Onboard Parallel mode" settings is set for "ECP + EPP".
