Make sure you've given it about 12 hours charge.

Could be a dud battery.

Is it an exact equivalent (voltage correct and current equal or more than specified)? Sometime it is best to buy the proper HP ones.

Hi Shanghai, the websites you have provided links to, suggest you are in Italy.

To save money, buy a compatible battery from Ebay or Amazon, using their UK websites. Even with including the postage you will save much.

Assuming you have an original HP/Compaq battery, use the number(s) on it when searching for a compatible one.

Ideally the battery should have the same number of cells (6?).
The amps should be the same or preferably higher.

Please advise back on progress.

Good Luck - Keep us posted. Buon Natale!

I will suggest you check the AC volt supplied by the PC adapter if its up to requirement. To do this check the battery side facing the PC casing or the label at the battery bay to see AC volt required and test the end plug to PC by setting your multi-meter to AC 50(depend on the type of multi-meter use but what matter is setting number up to requirement but it can be more than), then put RED probe inside the round mouth and BLACK probe outside then result is shown. NOTE: If displayed result is less than or higher in 0.3 -0.5 do not worry. If the result shows that its not okay test the PC with a spare either from friend or vendor before you buy.

In a case where the problem persist diagnose for PC battery charging IC and if bad replace or if you cannot take it to you local technician.

Thanks.
