Does anybody know if the HP Cd Writer Plus 8200 series (internal) can work with these new 800Mb/90 min Cd-R? If it can, could somebody please tell me how to do it (with Nero, Prassi Primo CD, or the Win Xp Explorer), because I tried everything I knew and what I read on the forum here but I just keep ruining my cd's. So, I thought it could be my drive, since it's not that new. TIA.

Check at HP website for a firmware update. HP probably doesn't manufacture the drive so if you identify the drive with AIDA32 you can sometimes use firmware from the manufacturer. Beware though, if you update with the wrong firmware the results can't be predicted. I would only do that if the model number is exactly the same. Out of curiousity, why do you want to do that. See, I'm cheap so I buy 48x or 52x CD-r 700Mb for free or nest to free after rebates. I can't see paying a premium for the extra space. Also have a DVD burner if I am doing data and CDr isn't going to do the job. I buy those cheap also.

Thank you, but could you be more specific on how to do the "firmware" thing? I've never heard of such thing. About your curiosity, I only have this cd-writer and I have some DivX movies that are bigger than the usual 700Mb, and I don't want to split them. But I'm planning on buying a DVD burner ASAP. Thanks again.
