Comment:
I purchased an HP C4380 today. I installed it via USB perfectly, but when I try connecting it through my 802.11g connection it doesn't connect. I ran diagnostics through the printer and everything is good until it gets to the "No filtering" test and fails. My wireless router (Netgear DG834G) hasn't got MAC address filtering, so I dont know what I can do now. I emailed HP but wont get a reply for a few days.
Does your printer have wireless capabilities? some do and some don't on these models. If it does then I would try using an ethernet cable and configure printer as that is what I had to do with my wireless printer to get it to work correctly.
Did you run the Wireless Network Setup Wizard in XP? By default in SP2 you must use an encryption key for a wireless network. Running the wizard will make you one or you can make up your own, and you must enter that key in your router's configuration. If you make a floppy disk at the end of the wizard the key is on the floppy in one of the files.
Info about wireless and this unit, assuming it does have the capability:

Just bought HP 4380 which is a wireless printer. I have a belkin Adsl modem and router bought in 2006 ver 1.000uk set up for wireless internet. Unfortunately despite all attempts to install the printer wirelessly, there has been no success. When the report is printed it shows 'No filtering' as 'Fail'. I do not have Mac filtering. Any suggestions?
