Hi all.
My g'f's printer has an annoying habit. Whenever the PC is shut down and restarted later, it loses the settings / path for the printer. I either have to remove and reinstall the drivers or recapture the printer port. The error I get is :"There was an error writing to USB / DeskJet 845_CN18Q1P3G5SX for the printer (hp deskjet 845c series): The printer is not ready. make sure it is turned on and online. To continue printing, click retry. Windows will automatically retry after 5 seconds" Any ideas?

In 98Se I had the same problems with a HP950
and a Xerox M750 useing USB so I went back to useing a parallel cable .No more probs!
But if you want to keep useing USB try the newest drivers and follow the HP USB installation Guide closely.
