I have HP 7200 series external CD-Writer running on a PII Win98 PC. When I try to record a VCD onto a Touchmate CDR-80(80min) Cd using Nero ver 5.5.4.0, I get the following error message:
"Calibration Area Full".

I updated the firmware of HP to 3.01, but the problem still persists. Please note that I have problems only with the Touchmate CDs, the rest work fine.

Please help!

Hi,

I think you answered your own question. Use another brand of CD rather than Touchmate.

But, if you want to investigate further, go to www.google.com and type in Calibration Area Full. You will receive several hits and if you follow the for Nero you will see that one of the suggestions is to use a different brand of CD.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply.

But I want to know if the "Calibration Area Full" error is due to the HP CD-Writer or a problem with Nero? Will using any other CD Burning software solve the problem?

Regards,
Anse

have you ever overburnt CD's to 80 min discs previously or is this the first time you've tried? it may be your writer that is the problem. It won't be nero.

I have the same HP 7200i and I had the same issue. After weeks of trying things and then finally replacing it. I tried to dust it out with a can of air and it works fine now. Give it a try.
