Comment:

There is a HP4250dtn network printer in my place of work. This printer is connected and I can ping it, and it doesn't drop packets. However when it is connected, it stops being recognised after a while on the computer. It still responds to pings, but wouldn't print. I have tried removing it, and adding it again, and it would only add when I reboot the printer. Has anyone come across this kind of problem before?

Finally sorted it out. Someone configured another printer on the network with the same IP address.
