how to turn off laptop screen to save power?

Specs: Windows XP

hi i have to do lot of works in laptop. but some times i want to switch off my laptop monitor screen alone. do any one know how to switch off the laptop screen to save power while some processes are working.

Depends on make and model of laptop.

Look at the 'F keys'. If you see one with icons of two screens on one of them (one black, one white), that may do it.

Press & hold down the 'Fn' key first then press the appropriate 'F' key.

Repeat to turn display back on.

Go to desktop right click empty area menu appear select properties>display properties appears>click screen saver tab>click power button>power options properties window appear make sure power schemes are set to *portable laptop* then look for turn off monitor u can set it to one minute then ok>now every time your system stays idle for 1minute your monitor will sleep.

There usually is a factory hot key that may or may not be known online. Email the company they might as a tech. They are very odd key arraignments Like Alt and three b's or such..
