Start/Control Panel/switch to classic view/Double click the "system" icon. Click on the Hardware tab. Then the "Device Manager" button. Click the plus sign by "Display Adapter"

Or you can google a search for "unknown device identifier" the the information you get from "Device Manager" is too vague.

Everest Home Edition (Formerly AIDA32) is one program that can tell you that and a whole lot more.
Belarc Advisor is another.
Google for them. They're free.
Or you could always just look in Devicemanager.
ControlPanel>System>Hardware>DeviceManager

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.
Teach him to fish and his wife will never forgive you.

Unknown Devices

"unknown device identifier" is the pirated, ripoff version

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience

Thanks jboy. Good to see Mike getting credit for his work instead of the ripoff artist "huntersoft".

I was fooled by this over a year ago and posted my apologies to Mike here:

Sure thing Skip, I appreciate your making us aware of the deception. The (deliberate) similarity in names makes it easy for folks to confuse the two.
The original can be updated, the knockoff.. not so much.
