I never in my wildest dreams imagined I would want to shut down a computer with a mobile phone. I have a mouse that will do that quite well. I use my mobile phone for talking to people. I'm sure there is an answer. If terrorists can use mobile phones to detonate bombs, shutting down a computer shouldn't present much of a problem. If you know the answer, why are you asking? Stuart

i agree that #1 = "why?" #2: Be aware that no matter how you enable this feature, doing so will be increasing your PC's vulnerable surface area. You will be allowing remote control of your PC, which is exactly the kind of vulnerability that hackers practice exploiting. Sure, you can probably encrypt traffic, require a password, etc., but you will still have increased vulnerable surface area. also, just Shutdown, or Shutdown and reboot?
