Your question is similar to this: I forgot the key to my house, would you tell me how to pick the lock?

An HD password is a security measure to combat the theft of laptops. Forgetting this password is a very serious matter. If it could be circumvented by some simple method it would be of little value. If you can prove ownership you could try contacting the manufacturer but there is doubt even they can help.

Try this one. It is supposed to unlock many of them. A worker at Dell told it to me.

See if that works.

"take it apart and remove the small battery and or clear cmos."

OP is asking about a hard drive password. There is no small battery or CMOS in a hard drive and if you take one apart you wreck it.

Even a bios boot password on modern laptops cannot be removed that way.

the only solution for laptop passwords is to convince the manufacturer that you own it and send it to them to unlock.
