does anyone know how to remove a hard disk's bad sector? mostly what feedback i get is to format it entirely. pls help. thanks.

bad sector= damage to the hard disk platter= terminal

You might try to partition your drive. Depending where the bad sectors are you might be able to reformat the drive to a smaller drive. This way the drive is still usable but with less capacity.

a low level format should get rid of them

but if they start reapearing there may be something wrong with the drive

go to your hard drive makers site to get a utility to do this

You do not need a low level format to remove bad sectors.

If you are wiping the disc, use the dos format command with the /C option set. This tests bad clusters and if they can be re-used it marks them as ok.

However if there are many bad sectors on the hdd, consideration should be given to scrapping, before a failure causes loss of data.
