how to program the serial mouse to work with

Specs: Windows 7, 2gb
am working on my final yr project on serial
mouse.. i have to connect pic tp pc using RS-
232 and have to program pic so that it will be
detected as mouse by the driver. anyone who
know abt serial mouse protocols pls help. i
need to complete this as soon as possible.
and i searched many sites but those are not
working ... if anyone knows abt it u can mail
me to (removed).... pls the
time is of atmost importance...

In order to get a serial mouse to function on Windows 7 you need to find a compatible Window 7 driver for your serial mouse, if one even exists. Google for "Windows 7 serial mouse drivers".

As I understand your problem you want to program a PIC into a
serial to usb adapter for a serial mouse, Your have two

1 - read serial mouse
2 - send signals to usb port.

I think the first part is easier. In the second part are you allowed
to use a usb interface chip.
