I picked up a used ATX case. Its an Enlight EN7652. It uses these "rails" to install dvd or cd drives into the bay. They look like this:

I can't for the life of me figure out how they're supposed to be installed. I tried attaching them to the drive I'm installing but the rails make it too wide to slip into the case and I can't figure out how the rails "mate" to the inside of the drive bay.

Can anyone explain or even better, point me to a website with an illustrated guide on installation?

Thanks

There should be slots in the case for the rails to slide into.

Do you have a photo of the bay frame? Maybe it's not made to accommodate rails.

Life's more painless for the brainless.

Looking at your pic, the upper rail goes on the left side (when viewing the CD drive from the front), the other goes on the right side. The locking tabs face the front of the drive. Secure the rails to the drive, then insert the drive thru the front of the case until it 'clicks' in place. You'll have to determine which screw holes to use.

Kinda like this:

Thanks everyone. Turns out I had to pull the front face plate off. Once I did I could slide the drive with the rails in and it snapped right into place. Couldn't see the forest for the trees.

Slapped myself in the forehead. "Of course the face plate has to come off first."

I feel dumb. ;)
