Specs: Windows XP, 1 gb
i have machine P4 hp model Dc5000 and i need to know how how to increase the vga by ram i have a onboard of 96mb vga card and i have 1 gb ram
plz help me its urgent and has a speed of 2.8ghz.cant i increase the vga by ram

I think you mean dc5000? The only way to increase the "vga RAM" is to install a video card. The onboard graphics on that system suck anyway. Unfortunately, it appears that your system only has standard PCI slots.

Look for a Geforce 6200 256MB PCI card. That's about as good as it gets without spending a fortune. Then again, spending $45 on that old system seems like too much.

You can't increase the ram used by the chip. You would need to install a video card, but your Mobo only has pci slots for expansion. Your power supply is weak also. As far as upgrading to play games or use graphics intense programs, you're out of luck. Your system will take up to 4 gigs of ram, which would help for normal applications. What do you want to do with the computer that you can't do now?
