That setup would not work. You would actually need to pick up a converter box to convert the digital signal from your laptop to an analog signal to your tv. Look for hdmi to composite rca converter box.

Depending upon the condition of the TV, it may be more cost effective to get a new LCD tv.

Did you change the input setting on your TV? Did you lower the screen resolution on the laptop?

That is an HDMI to component cable. You need to have a component input on your TV for it to work. The yellow, blue and green are video signals. The red and white are the left and right audio signals.

If you have a single RCA video input on your TV, then you need an HDMI to composite cable. It will have three connectors. Yellow for video and red and white for audio.

Okay I looked and Yes the tv do have the component input within the outlined box are colors red white than to the left are green, blue, and another red...the only yellow one i see is in the video input box.

I tried hooking up the yellow in the video input and the green, blue, white and red in the component box. i put the tv on component and still nothing.

I switch the laptop off and back on and it still didnt pick up my tv.

Any more idea thanks for your help so far.
