How to go without an iPod?

Specs: Windows 7 pr0 6400, 17 2969xm
We Have An old iPod that is starting to make noise. It is only used to store music, that my wife enjoys playing in a JBL Stage Unit, that she enjoys moving around to the kitchen, bath or where ever in our condo. I do not have any intention of buying another, having never been an apple fan, sorry to all that might offend... but. I did look at the cost of a replacement unit and started thinking... 7"-10" tablet, I do have a large New Flat Screen, but not a smart unit. I have several wireless items running in my condo using a Netgear N900 router. extra hard drives, also a sea-gate 500 Gb USB 2.0 back up unit. I even still have a Roku new unit in the box..... Wireless Bluetooth players, Now Please realize, i live in a 1 bedroom apartment in the middle of Chicago with RCN cable access.

My problems is, i am looking for suggestions on how to pull it all together, Sure use a small desktop to start, well I don't really have room to unpack my JBL receiver. So everything must be able to be hidden behind something else. My Basic thoughts think of a Samsung Adapter to make my TV A Smart unit, or a Western Digital media player or equal. Or even to purchase an item like a Samsung 7" note 2....
The bottom line would be to tie all of this together and still have a choice of saved music to be able to easily select.

The cheaper ones are sold with AMD APU's.

Did A Temporary Solve, purchased a iPod classic 6 for $50.00 scratch up, but works great. I believe I want to look at the new Xbox unit, not for games, just to able to sort all of my digital inputs.
