HEy can one zero fill, or erase a DOM disk on module to return it to factory settings?

I have a security dvr from avermedia which has crashed and am trying to restore it. But when I downdate the os gui dvr it holds my old settings.

It is the dx5000 series

I know contact them I am trying, but just playing till then, curious also.

the os ended up locking me out even as root.

Also why can one not boot from a dvd iso bootable zero fill utility, just a cdr?

Cdrom is a dvd reader btw

Try downloading a Red Hat ISO from linuxISO.org or a mirro close to you. Then when your burn it off to a CD reboot with it in the tray. See if you can boot it in failsafe or rescue mode.
