Even updating BIOS with the correct one has a risk - mostly it is unnecessary.

Can you get into BIOS and have you a CD drive? If so you could get the correct one on a CD and boot with it in the drive. No guarantees but nothing much lost now.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

"ms-7522 ver2 x58 platinum"

It's apparently an MSI board, is THIS how you did the flash?

"medion wont send me a disk they want me to ship the whole thing to them in Germany"

If there's no display on the screen, how is a disc going to help? There is no easy way to recover from a bad flash. Generally, the BIOS chip or the entire motherboard has to be replaced.

No I followed the instructions on a medion Web site page that told me to flash though windows grabbed the wrong update for my board and installed 3.0 instead of 2.0 and after that found out that installing in windows was the wrong thing to do aswell

Some old Intel motherboards had a jumper for a 'bios recovery' option. When jumpered there it would boot from a floppy having a bios update and install it even though nothing ever showed up on the monitor.

I think there were some other motherboard brands that had that capability but not many. You should probably check to see if by chance your motherboard has 'bios recovery'.

If not, is the bios chip in a DIP socket (most aren't anymore)? If so maybe you could just order another chip.

Otherwise, is it cheaper to send it all to Deutschland or just buy a new motherboard?
