|Don't have a clue. It is there but will not work. I used a safety pin and gently pried the power button up and it seems fine. Didn't look dirty. The connector (which looks like a little mother board part) is white so I used a pencil and tried to push it in. It didn't do anything. |
The computer shows the on light when plugged in, it just won't turn on with the power button. I looked at the button when I took it off and it looked in good condition. I put it back on.
I removed about 4 or 5 screws from the back of the laptop to see if I could gently pry the little plastic plate off. I thought if I could get it off I could buy a replacement part. I priced them and they are about 30 to 60 dollars. I couldn't ever get it to release and didn't want to break it so put the screws back in.
The power button felt like it sorta clicked when I would turn it on but now it doesn't feel like it is connecting at all.
