Well, I was playing a PC game and I was reading the read me text file. Long story short I went to Nvidia to DL the latest driver.

I looked a the installation tips on the site and it said to be sure to remove the old Nvidia display driver. I did, and I restarted my computer and everything looked huge. Is there any solution to fixing this? Did I break it? Please reply. Thanks.

P.S What driver would I need to DL on Nvidia website to fix this.

all you need to do is reset this. This can be done by going into your control panel, open up "Display" click on the settings tab at the top and change your resolution to whatever you want.

sarcasm not needed, im only trying to help, if you want to be sarcastic...go somewhere else and "get help"

When you change the resolution settings, windows has a popup that will confirm the changes made. if no action is taken within 10 seconds or so it will revert to its previous state...so "TO HELP YOU"..boot in safe mode, it will automatically put itself in 640*480 resolution and you can make changes back that way.

Yep!

you will need to know the model of your card to know what driver to download. when you find that go to the drivers link and dowload whatever corresponds to your card. if you tell us your make/model we may be able to help further.

Yep!

The driver from Nvidias site should fix the "choppiness".

I wasnt trying to be sarcastic, it really did help me. =D I had no idea that it was as easy as that. Its back to normal but web pages are still choppy. Did i delete a graphics driver? I have a Emachine with a AMD Sempron 3000+ processor, 120GB hard drive, NVIDIA Geforce4 MS video card( I think its a video card), Nforce 6-channel audio, 512MB ram. thats about all i can tell ya bro.

This all started when i went to device manager and deleted the display driver as the site says to do.

yes you removed your graphics driver. this is what most likely happened... your graphics card is nvidia geforce4. your board has the nvidia chipset. when you tried to get the latest drver and install it, windows already recognized the nvidia drivers in your system. I had the same issue with my nvidia nforce3 chipset and my geforce4 card. I switched to an ati card because i had issues. you will have to install the graphics driver first. basically when you install the drivers, and it states that you have to remove previous nvidia drivers, click yes, windows will reinstall what it needs and everything should be peachy, sorry for being rude, i thought you were overloading the sarcasm. and yes the new drivers should clear up the choppyness.

Yep!

just fyi, when you delete a graphics driver, windows will use somewhat a generic driver until you can reinstall your graphic driver(display driver and graphic driver is same thing) hope this helps.

Yep!

generic driver is what made your icons big. forgot to mention that. it will only support the 640*480 and very few colors.

Dude, I think I'm the one that supplied you with the info. You have to remove the old drivers (which you did), but you didn't install the new drivers to replace the ones you removed. The latest driver is version 81.98

Sorry about the above response...I think I confused you with someone else.

"I'm thinking of putting in the new radeon X1800 XT Graphics processor"

I doubt that will be possible. 1st of all, your eMachine would have to be a relatively new system with a PCI-Express slot. 2nd, you'd need a decent power supply to be able to handle the extra load. 3rd, if you don't have a higher end CPU, the video card will be held back from performing to it's potential. 4th, you need more than 512MB RAM.
