My hard drive crashed, and I'm trying to find a replacement to have the info switched out.
I need to find out where or how I can find specifically a Samsung HD501LJ hard drive Made in Korea 2007.06 - Anyone know someone who works in data recovery or anything like that, who can find such a specific hard drive?

Why do you have to have an exact hard drive as a replacement? There are plenty of options when it comes to hard drives providing you get one with the same specifications then it doesn't have to be an exact copy. However, if you absolutley must have an identical drive, a search of Google will be helpful.
If the information on the hard disk is inaccessible then you are into a whole different ball game where a new hard disk may not help you.
If you post some information on exactly what the problem is then there may well be a better option.

What are you planning to do? You may be able to swap the circuitboard in order to try recovering your data but that presumes the drive that crashed did not have any mechanical fault with the read/write heads or motors, or physical damage to the disk surfaces.
If your plan is to move the actual disks into a working drive forget it. Disk drives should only be opened inside a clean room as the clearances between heads and disk are so fine the tiniest dust mote or airborne pollutant can cause catastrophic damage.

I am not personally doing the work - I have a computer person who is doing the actual switching out. Really, what I need is a source to get the drive. I have tried eBay and google, but have not yet been successful, so I am looking for perhaps an online store, or a shop in general, or some way to get a hold of a very specific drive.

Define what you mean by a "hard drive crash".
You do NOT need the exact make/model/size as your old HDD. And since your Samsung drive "crashed", why would you want to get another?

If you are trying to swap out the circuit board you will need to not only find the same model but one that was made within months of yours.
What is wrong with your drive. Describe the symptoms.

So, what we have is clicking. That is all. The drive is not recognized by the computer, because it isn't starting to spin. Essentially, if it is in the housing, it will click. And if the housing is on "Auto," the drive will stay on, trying to start up, but of course, will click.
I know I need a model made within months - I've found one made 1 month later, but am not certain the firmware is the same, as this one has no firmware listed on it. So, ideally, I'm looking for one from the same month/manufacture location.
