hdd: fujitsu mhn series 20gb

how to fix the hdd so, that it does not use (read/write) to bad sectors.

these are not standard bad sectors, because i tried to run fujitsu diagnostics and zero fill and no bad blocks were reported, but the hdd makes noises and is slow and hangs at 9% chkdisk and at fujitsu comprehensive diagnostics (stops, the led burns and the hdd makes a periodical noisy ticks - it simple can`t go beyond some sectors)...

i heard of software like hdd util and pc3000 (a russian software that i was suggested earlier but couldn't find!!!) maybe some sugestions from you folks!!!

thanks in advance!!!

Honestly with HD's being under a $100 now a days, just save a lot of time and money and buy another one.

If you value your data I would strongly suggest you quickly go and get another hardrive. Bad sectors are like a virus and will spread quickly. What ever you do ...back your information up before running Scandisk as if you started out with 5 bad sectors...by the time that it's thru you might have 25 or more which will make the hardrive un useable.

you said that "the hard drive makes noises". Are you talking about the click of death? If so, it's a sign that your hard drive has reached the end of its lifetime...you need to replace the hard drive

as for preventing bad sectors from being used...the computer already marks bad sectors, and the bad sectors are never used from then on.
