I am using my son's compaq and can't get to the BIOS using the F1 Key. Does anyone know how to get there in this system? It has two drives: C the main drive and D a backup drive. Also how do I remove the Compaq startup logo. (I was able to delete HP's in my HP computer. But I lost the directions when I lost my HP System.)

Compaq Presario 5000
IE6.1

Try holding down the delete key on boot up.

I dont remember, but I didn't think F1 was it. To find out, go to the HP/Comcrap website and look up your machine.

Now, many comax I've seen, have the bios program somehow on a special hidden partition on the hard drive. This means that if someone has either replaced the drive, OR completely removed the existing partitions and re-installed a system, that bios stuff will not be there, and you WILL NOT be able to enter the bios.

Never fear, though, you can download a floppy(s) off the comaack website that will take the place of the hdd stuff.

I'm not sure, but I imagine that the startup logo is somewhere in this same deal. (I try to stay away from these things.)
